The FreeBSD course can also be customized for larger groups to provide a Unix preference other than FreeBSD, such as, NetBSD, OpenBSD, DragonflyBSD, PC-BSD, or DesktopBSD.
Course Prerequisites:
A basic knowledge of Unix is assumed. Although Linux+ is recommended as a prerequisite course, it is not required.
What Students Will Learn
Students will learn to how to install, administer, lock down and properly understand BSD files and systems. Similarities and differences in administration under other Unix systems will be discussed.
FreeBSD concepts learned from this course can be applied to other versions of Unix, including Linux, OpenBSD, BSD/OS, NetBSD, and Berkeley Unix administration.
A maximum of 12 students per class is permitted and students are provided with access to their own workstation, 1 class manual, study guide and CD. Also included in the course costs are student snacks and refreshments.
